The Aviva Investors European REIT Fund provides exposure to a diversified portfolio of listed real estate securities, which are shares in companies that have their own property holdings. Many of these property companies are real estate investment trusts, or REITS.

There are several advantages of investing in property through REITs in different countries rather than by investing in property directly. For example, investors gain immediate and liquid exposure to the property market with less cost than in other forms of real estate investment. Furthermore, the fund invests in a wide variety of listed property companies with different levels of geographical and/or sectoral focus, providing considerable diversification benefits. With REIT-like structures being adopted by an increasing number of countries, it is a market with long-term potential to grow in scale.

The Aviva Investors European REIT Fund was originally launched in January 2003 and managed by Delta Lloyd. The fund has been managed by Aviva Investors since January 2007.
