Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI)
The Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI) team considers sustainable and responsible investments to be those that have a positive impact on society or the environment. This might include companies which develop technologies to reduce carbon emissions, or those that improve the lives of people through medical innovation.
The team actively avoids investing in companies that cause unsustainable environmental damage or operate in an unethical manner and the team often engages with companies to improve the way they operate. Sustainable investment also relates to the returns we aim to bring our investors. Companies that adopt an ethos of sustainable and responsible development are well positioned when it comes to achieving potential for sustainable profits.
In other words, sustainable development need not come at the expense of profit; companies that adopt sustainable practices can reduce costs, increase their market share and boost shareholder value.
Our fund range
We offer a broad range of products that enable investors to benefit from the shift to a more sustainable economy. Three of our funds have the following key aims:

Our philosophy & process
Our view is that the world economy needs to move to a more sustainable model in order to address the significant social and environmental problems that the current global economic model has created. For these reasons, we believe that those companies conducting their business in a sustainable and responsible manner are more likely to succeed over time.
Engagement
We also use our influence as shareholders to promote good practice among those companies in which we invest. We focus on areas where we believe improved management of social, environmental or governance issues will enhance or protect shareholder value.
