(London) Aviva Investors today announced the appointment of Elysia Tse as Senior Vice President Strategy and Research of its Asia Pacific Real Estate business. Leading investment strategy and research, she will be responsible for the formulation of fund-level strategy and asset allocation for mandates managed within the Asia Pacific Real Estate business, as well as the development, implementation, and enhancement of the Real Estate investment process in the region. Elysia will be based in Singapore and report to Ian Hally, CEO Asia Pacific Real Estate, and David Skinner, Chief Investment Officer – Real Estate.

Ian Hally said: “Real estate is one of the three key focus areas for Aviva Investors going forward, alongside fixed income and multi-asset investing. The Asia Pacific region has become increasingly important to the global Real Estate asset management market based on client demand for exposure to Asian markets. As we look into deepening our regional footprint in the Asia Pacific Real Estate market, especially in more liquid markets, having a rigorous investment strategy and research approach is vital in supporting the team in making active and informed investment decisions.”

David Skinner added: “With close to 15 years of real estate investment experience, we believe Elysia will be a significant asset to our team in strengthening our core capabilities and further enhancing our offerings to our clients. Her track record in deploying research and analysis to guide strategic decision making on a global and regional level is impeccable, as is her understanding of the Asia Pacific region and dedication to driving the industry forward. Her appointment is testament to Aviva Investors’ commitment to developing market leading research and insights for the benefit of our customers and our business.”

Elysia joins Aviva Investors from the real estate equity group in BlackRock Inc., where she held the role of Director of Research and Strategy Real Estate Equity. In this role, she developed fund-level investment strategies, conducted portfolio risk analysis, and played a significant role in formulating the firm’s US and Asia Pacific regional strategies. Prior to BlackRock Inc., Elysia held positions in the research and strategy team at Citigroup Property Investors and LaSalle Investment Management in the United States.

In 2011, Elysia was named Rising Leader by Commercial Property Executive in the United States. She was also a recipient of the US Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network’s 20 Under 40 Award in 2010 for her contribution to excellence in research, practice, and education.
