Introduction

The Aviva Investors Stewardship Policy sets out our approach to stewardship and in particular how we comply with the UK Stewardship Code.*
Aviva Investors fully supports the UK Stewardship Code and complies with all its principles.
We have supported the development of good governance in the UK and beyond for many years and will continue to do so. We very much hope that the Stewardship Code achieves its purpose of enhancing the quality of engagement between institutional investors and companies to help improve long term returns to shareholders and the effective exercise of governance responsibilities. What is the Stewardship Code?
The UK Stewardship Code is a set of principles and guidance for institutional investors which represents current best practice on how they should perform their stewardship duties.

There are 7 principles under the Stewardship Code. Each principle is accompanied by guidance to help investors focus on how to meet the principles.
