Our investment teams operate like independent boutiques while also being part of the wider Aviva group. Our hedge fund strategies include global macro, equity long-short, convertibles arbitrage, and fixed income arbitrage. In addition, we have acted as investment adviser to private equity fund investors since 1991; more recently launching an innovative fund-of-fund solution.

We continue to observe tremendous growth in demand for alternative investments, as the institutional focus has shifted firmly toward securing diversified and consistent sources of investment return. Going forwards, we continue to focus on organic growth, leveraging the expertise of Aviva Investors' global, multi-asset, investment teams for the benfit of our alternatives client-base.

As at 30 June 2012 Aviva Investors managed close to $1.5bn of alternative assets under management.
