(London): Philips Pensioenfonds has appointed Aviva Investors to establish and manage a global multi-manager unlisted real estate portfolio, with a mandate to invest in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe, as well as United States and Asia Pacific. 

With around 110.000 scheme members and more than EUR 13 billion of assets under management in defined benefit schemes, Philips Pensioenfonds is the sixth largest pension funds in the Netherlands (17.000 active scheme members, 33.000 deferred members and 60.000 pensioners).

Aviva Investors is a significant player in the global asset management space with more than EUR 300 billion of assets in a wide range of asset classes. It was chosen by Philips Pensioenfonds due to the strength and depth of its global multi-manager team, its integrated asset management structure, strong risk management culture and overall Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance investment credentials.

The multi-manager department is headed by Nick Mansley, Global Director of Multi Manager at Aviva Investors and is Aviva Investors centre of excellence in manager and fund selection, covering all asset classes. The global real estate multi manager team compromises 21 investment professionals located in London, New York & Singapore. It is responsible for managing more than € 5 billion of indirect assets for a range of institutional clients through both segregated accounts as well as pooled fund-of-fund products.
